This baby shower brought my sister home for the weekend. She lives in Savannah, so she’s had to travel a few times for the baby showers the family has hosted for her and Paul. We had so much fun making decorations and coming up with games to play. Of course, no baby shower is official until you tie balloons to the mailbox. I love having all of our parties at my mom’s house. It’s big enough so everyone can walk around and talk in different areas of the house and not be contained to one room, like we are at my house. I just wish my mom got as excited as we do, when we open her house to all of our friends, lol. Keep scrolling and hopefully you’ll enjoy the baby shower as much as the rest of us did.
How cute is this idea? “Thanks for popping by!” That is so stinking cute. How did people decorate before Pinterest? Of course I’m going to take a hundred photos of the same thing….why not?
My mom’s idea of decorating is to hang the clothes from the line. She did this at my baby shower too. It’s so simple and makes such an impact. Seeing all these baby clothes makes me so excited to hold him and kiss all over his little face!!!! I’ll have to do that behind my sister’s back because she doesn’t want anyone kissing him.
Omg’sh!!! These cute little bitty baby clothes!!!!
Our friend, Margarie, owns Simply Southard and made all of this wonderful food. Her chicken salad sandwich, pasta salad and artichoke dip was AWESOME!!!! If you enjoy having your food catered, you should call her. She’s awesome! You can view her full menu here http://www.simplysouthardbakery.com or you can call and speak to her directly, if you have questions. 770-378-6622
Here’s something I’ve never seen before, but I’m a simple girl, so…. Who knew putting a popsicle in champagne was a thing? I didn’t try it but it was a hit.
The pasta salad. There was NONE left
Once the guests arrived, ate and visited for a while, we played games. Jenna (my daughter) passed out game cards and loved being able to play the games with the adults. The first game, we had to guess how much all the baby items cost. At the end of the game, we totaled the amount and whoever was the closest to the total cost for all items won the game.
The second game was baby Jeopardy! This was so fun, we wanted to play longer. It was funny picking the nursery rhymes because only the older ladies knew the answers to those. Celebrity babies could’ve been skipped because we didn’t know much about today’s “celebrities.” It was during this game I learned Beyoncé chose horrible names for her twins.
Just a few questions in and Jenna was in the lead, or so she thought. She was so excited!!! I was giving her the answers and she couldn’t write them down fast enough. In the end, she did win the game. It was a Starbucks gift card, which mom thought she’d be too young for. Jenna reminded her that mom got her stuck on a certain lemonade there and she couldn’t wait to grab that card out of mom’s hands.
Now for the fun part….PRESENTS!!! To keep Brooke sitting comfortably, Jenna carried the gifts to her and helped her pull the paper out of the bags. I’m wondering at what age she’ll lose the desire to do this but I don’t think that will ever happen. She’s going to have a hard pill to swallow, when the baby starts stealing the attention now. She may surprise us all. She’s been wanting someone to have a baby for a while now so she may be happy to share things with him. We’ll see.
the outfit on the right was popular. She received SIX of them!
This elephant gift was so cute. Brooke loves elephants and decorates with them. This little thing sings songs and flaps his ears over his eyes. He was a hit and made everyone laugh.
If she’s like me, after delivery, the sayings on the pink shirt will become her slogan
Jenna picked her favorite books from her playroom to give to Chris. Among the stack was Cinderella, Lol
If you’re looking for a fun, entertaining activity, try this. Brooke bought some blocks and markers and had everyone pick a letter of the alphabet and decorate the block using that letter. When Chris learns the alphabet and plays with these blocks, it’ll be a fun memory to reminisce about. Jenna decorated five or six of these.

Sweet baby Carter was my first newborn session, in my new Flowery Branch studio. Carter was only eight weeks old when I worked with him. He’s one of the quietest babies I’ve ever been around. He’s the youngest of his siblings and they were each excited to have their photos made with their baby brother. […]

This year we had a quiet, low key, Easter at my In-Law’s house. I knew Easter was coming but it hadn’t crossed my mind about what we would do or eat on Easter Sunday. All I knew is how much back end work I needed to get done over the weekend, I hadn’t really thought […]

Northeast Georgia Medical Center Welcome to the world little Maverick! I met this little boy’s family during his maternity session. I knew he would be a tiny thing, when I saw how petite his mom was. She was still rocking high heels and off the runway gowns. Judging by the way the rest of his […]
If I Can’t Find A Location, I’ll Create One This year, my goal is to familiarize myself with compositions. I think these are so neat and can show exactly the kind of emotions we are unable to speak of. I first took notice of this style of photography, during covid. People were making some funky […]

A rained out session at Prospect Farms Follow my first session fail due to rain at Prospect Farms, in Lawrenceville, Ga. Meet T’Kia and Morris, a real life family who stepped out of the pages of Vogue Magazine! When I saw this family get out of their car and walk toward me, as if they […]
Let me introduce you to the best Brazilian steakhouse in Atlanta. In this case, Dunwoody, Georgia. There are a lot of copy cats in town but NOTHING compares to this place. Be careful if you’re brave enough to try it out. There are side effects of never paying regular price for “just one steak” at […]
Normally, for the past few years, my family and In-laws have gotten together and spent Christmas Eve at a Brazilian Steakhouse, here in Atlanta, known as Fogo De Chao. If you love meat and have never eaten there, you are missing out. For seventy five dollars a person, you can eat as much meat as […]
A Cold, Rainy Day to Meet Santa Here’s a glimpse of my Santa minis at Prospect Farms, in Lawrenceville, Ga. This is my most popular session all year. Santa Doug, here, is the best Santa I’ve ever worked with or seen around kids. He’s soft spoken, slow moving around kids and has his own props […]

This is one engagement session I couldn’t wait to shoot. After rescheduling from a previous date, I’ve been counting down for months for this day to arrive. I was also nervous because it was in May. If you know Savannah, in May, you know the humidity is out in full force by then. Also the […]

Reasons Why You Should Reconsider Your Decision This one photo sums up a million reasons why I will never be the kind of photographer who gets upset when guests take their own photos with their phones. Some may think it’s because I haven’t been in the industry long enough. Or because I haven’t been burned […]
Why Your Photographer Photographs The Wedding Dress Your wedding dress is one of the most expensive items of the wedding day. If you’re like me, you’ve spent a lot of time looking for the perfect dress, wondering if there’s going to be anything that speaks to you. Do you get anxiety from thinking about it? […]
Schedule Portraits With Your Bouquet I’m sure you’ve put as much thought into the look of your bridal bouquet, as you have your dress. Some Brides want a small, simple, look while other Brides want a big, bold, luxurious arrangement of flowers. Some Brides choose flowers that mean something to them, while other Brides choose […]
Jenna’s basketball team this year has been so exciting and so fun to watch. I never thought I’d be the parent who looked forward to games or enjoyed watching all the practices but we are so into basketball and love watching our girl play her heart out. We eagerly wait for each game, as if […]
I’m a month late getting this Christmas post out….but better late than never, right? This girl loves to decorate. Anything and everything. If there’s an empty spot in the house or room, she wants to decorate it. This particular day, I picked Jenna up from Nana’s house one Saturday afternoon, she was in the middle […]
