This year we had a quiet, low key, Easter at my In-Law’s house. Although I knew Easter was coming, it hadn’t crossed my mind about what we would do or eat on Easter Sunday. My only thought was clearing my to do list on my downtime. I was oblivious to the reality of what’s going on around me. I am so thankful for my Mother In Law, she really is the best. She never sleeps and is always thinking of others. She called me Thursday, asking if we had any plans at home or with my family. My parents were out of town and aside from working on the laptop it didn’t even dawn on me why she was asking. With little hesitation from our end, she got us and John’s brother and his wife over for the day.
I was able to see Sam’s baby bump get bigger. She looks so cute. She’s in the third trimester now and said she stays tired all the time. Aside from being out of breath most of the afternoon, she was able to clean her plate, lol. I don’t miss those miserable pregnant days, always feeling tired, out of breath and having to push my food down. Uh…the things we go through before our babies even arrive. Here are some of the decorations at my Mother In Law’s house. I enjoy seeing the simple, classic ways she decorates.

As soon as we arrive, there is always finger food waiting on us. Among the spread are crackers and cheese which are mine and John’s favorite. This year she added peppered salami. I don’t normally eat salami but this was the bomb. I could’ve eaten the whole thing if she didn’t slap my hand away from the plate a few times.

Below is my Mother In Law. I think she secretly owns a part of Walmart and Costco because she makes several trips there a week. I think she’s an undercover boss or something. No way someone can enjoy making that many trips all the time. I get cranky going one time and that’s just to drive around and pick up my order online. Just thinking about her routine makes me tired. This woman, here, is Superwoman!

Look at all this food! This was all her doing. She didn’t ask anyone to bring anything and when I asked what I could contribute, she only suggested I stop for green onions and that was mainly because she knew I liked them. And yes, yes I did stop for the onions. They were good!

Where do I start with these two. This is my husband, John, on the right and his brother, Chris, on the left. Chris hates photos as well. Most of the time, he photobombs me with a bird or crosses his eyes. These guys had to hide the eggs for the egg hunt. Chris surprisingly took his time and laid the eggs out really well for the kids, while John started throwing eggs on the ground as soon as his feet hit the pavement. There were a total of eighty eggs, and he had fifty eggs in the grass within five minutes. The guys both had a prize egg to hide but somehow, John lost his egg. How does that even happen? We lost a handful of his eggs, during the hunt that never made it back in the bag. Do you think he felt bad…. No, of course not.

The one spot John actually hid an egg was on his windshield which was too high for the kids to see. He said “oops!,” then he LOL. Now they’re back in and ready to start the egg hunt. This is how I’m usually greeted when I want to take a photo of these two. Chris doing his usual and John giving me the “I’m so tired of your pics smile.” By now, I’m used to it and just go with whatever they give me.

These kids are ready to go! Chris had to hold the door shut so I could get my photo.

These pictures don’t do any justice for this egg hunt. I really wish I could post the ten minute video of this hunt. There was screaming, laughter and lots of “hey…hey…hey” from Grandpa. I wonder at what age kids start to realize the eggs are hidden close to where the adults are standing. These kids flew past several eggs, ignoring all the pleas Grandpa made by whispering “hey…hey,” to the point Jenna finally said, “don’t tell me, I want to find them on my own!” Y’all! We were dying through the tears. They were running in circles and Grandpa stood there hollering “hey…hey…hey.”

I can’t remember who found the most eggs but Nolan found the gold egg. There were two hidden, in hopes each kid would find one but since John has his own way of “hiding eggs,” some were unaccounted for.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my family. Stay tuned to learn more about us. We’re very entertaining, if I can keep up with blogging.
Please reach out if you know anyone getting married and looking for a photographer. I’m budget friendly and can customize any kind of package needed.
Love you, mean it,
